Julie and Karl Mjelva bought Hotel Union Geiranger in 1899. The enterprising family also started a car factory, power plant and stove factory on the site. Hotel Union has been expanded and rebuilt several times.
What was left of the wooden hotel was removed in 1979. The hotel was later expanded, with a modern course and conference department, swimming pool, new top floor with 13 suites, veteran car exhibition, nightclub, spa department and constantly new offers inside and out.
The strong Union atmosphere, with quality and service for generations, has been continued with Monja and Sindre Mjelva as hosts. They are currently hosting the fourth generation of hotels.
